MAN TAKES A HIGH JUMP TO DEATH AFTER KILLING WOMAN FRIEND

1004 Flats in Victoria Island, Lagos, was thrown into confusion on Friday night after a man allegedly stabbed his woman friend to death. The alleged assailant jumped from the sixth floor of the highrise building where the heinous act was committed as he was being chased by security officials and died instantly. The victim was identified as Susan Yusuf while the name of the suspected killer was given as Idris.
The incident was reported to have taken place between 8:30 - 9pm. What resulted to her death was not know as she was found in her own pool of blood.

WHITNEY HOUSTON FOUND DEAD IN HER HOTEL ROOM

Award-winning singer Whitney Houston has died at a hotel in Los Angeles at the age of 48. The news was first announced by her publicist Kristen Foster but the cause of star's death is currently unclear. Lieutenant Mark Rosen from Beverly Hills Police told KABC-TV that Houston was pronounced dead in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton hotel at 3.55pm (local time) on Saturday afternoon. "She has been positively identified by friends and family that were with her at the hotel, and next of kin have already been notified," Lieutenant Rosen told reporters. Her body remains in the hotel and detectives are investigating but the death is not thought to be suspicious. On Thursday night the star was pictured looking dishevelled and worse-for-wear as she attended a pre-Grammy party in Hollywood. But earlier in the evening she had received a standing ovation for performing a duet with host Kelly Price.
According to the police as at time of this report suppects no foul play.

FIRST ISLAMIC BANK OPENS AMIDST MIXED REACTIONS

Mixed reactions have trailed the

Abuja-based Jaiz Bank Plc.

While Muslims have commended

"Sanusi is not a Central Bank of
Nigeria governor but the Islamic
Central Bank of Nigeria Governor".
Other Christian clerics described the
bank as sponsored by people to
create further divide between
Muslims and Christians, with some
calling for close monitoring of the
bank's activities to avoid it being
used to fund terrorist activities. The
interest-free loan system was
however applauded by a few, that it would help ease their pain.

Abubakar Maryam - his wife of many years - he described as his pillar of support, reportedly passed on in the early hours of Monday.
The sad news was confirmed to our correspondent in Kano, at the
family house, where she reportedly lived and died. The cause of her death was unknow as at time of filing this report, as a source close to the family reported by saying her was healthy yesterday. She died at the early hours of today.

TEEN REPORTS MUM TO POLICE FOR HAVING LOUD SEX.

A 15-year-old girl called 911 to
report she could hear her mom
having sex, according to a police

Michael Stevens a.k.a Ruggedman collapsed all of a
sudden and was rushed to the
hospital. According to sources, the rapper has been having small but
constant headaches for days before the incident occurred. We learnt he
was placed on treatments and was later discharged. He is currently at
home where he is been attended to, if need be. We really wish the

A Manchester supermarket security guard has moved to Africa to live in
the jungle as a real-life Tarzan. DeWet Du Toit, 24, has swapped his
Co-op uniform for a loin cloth and spends his days swinging through
trees and eating insects.
He became obsessed by Tarzan
while living in Namibia as a young
boy, where his father was a
collector of Tarzan books and
comics.
He said: "People might say I'm
crazy, but I know this is what I was born to do. I'm like Tarzan in so
many ways.
"My best friend is an elephant
called Shaka, and I spend more
time with monkeys, zebras and
crocodiles than I do with people.
"I'm not the kind of guy who loves partying, I certainly never get
drunk. I prefer to eat the fruits and berries that I find in the
jungle. I also know what insects to eat."
The former bodybuilder films his
daily life and hopes Hollywood
scouts cast him in a movie about
his hero.
The farmer's son spends three
nights a week alone in the bush
capturing his antics on camera.
The rest of his time is spent at his
parent's home in George, South
Africa, after arriving from
Manchester in 2007. He added: "It does get lonely - I would love to
find a Jane to help me pass the time."

Controversial movie producer
and director, Dickson Iroegbu
who is known for his
"astuteness" is set to cause
ripples again in the society as he
concludes plans to release his
latest movie, " Law 58" into the
market.
"Law 58" is an expository, yet
shocking movie on gay practice
and its consequences on the
traditional African society.
The producer claimed that the
movie, which stars the likes of
Kanayo. 0.Kanayo, who played
the lead character, Clarion
Chukwurah, Halima Abubakar,
Ghanaian actor, Kofi Adjorlolo,
Mark Morris Chibueze amongst
other Nollywood stars took him
over four years to produce.
Iroegbu also
disclosed
how actors
like Mike
Ezuruonye
and
Desmond
Elliot
refused to
be part of
the eyesore
movie when
he
approached
them to star
in it.
In a chat with HVP, during the
week, the light-complexioned
director, who recently staged a
comeback to the motion picture
industry after few years of
abandoning the trade, said the
movie will be released on DVD as
from next month. For him, the
movie will relaunch him into the
mainstream movie making.
Narrating how he came about
the movie, Iroegbu said "Law
58″ was the last movie he made
before he proceeded on
sabbatical few years ago.
He, however recalled how he
was once called a gay, and
accused of telling his own story
because of his decision to
produce the film, adding that by
the time the film hits the street,
the world will acknowledge
"whether I am a gay or not."
According to him, the movie
was produced between 2008
and 2009 ."When I saw the
National Assembly debate on
Gay Marriage, I thought it was
prophetic because at the time, I
produced the movie, we hadn't
engaged ourselves
constructively on how to
address the issue of gay.
"We pretended then as if it
didn't exist in our society. Not
knowing that it was gradually
eating into the fabrics of the
society."
"So, one saw it at that time and
set out to discuss it via the tube.
I may sound very judgmental
about it but I have no apologies
whatsoever. Homosexual is an
evil act that our culture and
religion as Africans prohibits,
and so, speaking against it as a
film maker is to re-echo what
my society has been saying
about the ugly practice."
"At the time, I was shooting the
movie, most of my colleagues
frowned at the project because
it was rumour then that some
of them were involved in the
act. I thought it was time to take
a stand, given the fact that I
was once called a gay ,just to
discredit my personality."
"Today, I want the society to feel
my purse differently, so that
when the film is finally released
into the market, they will be
able to reconcile it with the
Dickson Iroegbu they have
known for several years. The
world will also ascertain
whether I'm a homosexual or
not."
When asked why it took him
some time to release the movie,
Iroegbu replied, " it was as a
result of some personal issues
which I needed to address as
well as the the censors board's
refusal to certify the movie on
the ground that it dwells on an
issue that is not allowed in
Nigeria.
The board also demanded that I
should go back and re-edit the
film, which I did. It was
supposed to be a two-part film,
but they insisted that I must
reduce it to a one-part film. At
the moment, I have fulfilled all
the board's requirements and I
have given a nod to release the
film."
On starring KOK as the lead
character, the controversial
movie director expressed
sympathy for the actor. He said,
" I know how I tried to convince
him to get involved in the
movie. It took KOK some time
before he agreed to star in the
movie.
"Also, I approached actors like
Mike Ezuruonye and Desmond
Elliot, but they screamed, and
turned down the offer to star in
the movie. For whatever reason
they refused, I don't know." The
movie, according to Iroegbu,
explores a true life story.

FORMER GOV'S CAR RAN INTO PROTESTERS IN OSUN STATE, 3 INJURED.

No fewer than three persons were injured yesterday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, when a car belonging to the former governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, allegedly rammed into some youths protesting the fuel subsidy removal. Nextvoice learnt that the incident happened at about 2pm at Olaiya area of the town. Protesters had barricaded the road and were said to be holding a rally when the former governor's convoy got to the area. The protesting youths were said to have surged towards the vehicle, when they noticed that it was conveying the former governor. The governor's vehicle was said to have hit three of the protesters while trying to meander through the barricade in a bid to beat the surging crowd.

How many more will have to die before how goverment resorts to the masses demands.

SNOOP DOG ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGE

Snoop Dogg was arrested this past weekend after a sniffing dog uncovered about a half an ounce of marijuana on his tour bus in Texas. According to TMZ, Snoop Dogg's tour bus was stopped by border
patrol at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. Snoop told the officers that he had a prescription for the marijuana but Texas has a zero tolerance policy for weed regardless of his status in other states.
If convicted, Snoop could face up to 180 days in prison. But Snoop was issued a citation for misdemeanor
drug possession and released.

FIVE DEAD IN BENIN CLASH

Clashes that broke out after Muslims were violently targeted in Benin have left five people dead and more than 10,000 displaced, a Red Cross official said Tuesday.

“We have recorded so far five deaths — on both sides, those that have been attacked and the attackers,” said Dan Enowoghomwenwa, secretary general of the Nigerian Red Cross in Edo state, said

“We have over 10,000 internally displaced persons in various places.
