Efe Ambrose only wed his bride
Adenike at Kaduna on Saturday, but
by Monday, he was at the Super
Eagles camp.
Ambrose, who partners Joseph
Yobo in the centre of the Eagles
defence, was forced to skip his
honeymoon in order to ensure that
Nigeria get the result they need to
reach next year's African Nations
Cup.
"It is no big deal," he told Guinness
VIP.
"Normally, I should be on
honeymoon with my new wife, but
it is important for us to be at the
African Nations Cup and I have to
be here to help the team."
His wife, Adenike was also in Abuja
on Monday, and as she returned to
Kaduna, it was with one charge to
the Super Eagles, to make her
husband's sacrifice worthwhile by
beating Guinea, and qualifying for
the African Nations Cup.
"That will be the best wedding
present the team can give both of
us. I understand he has to be on
national assignment, so we both
have to sacrifice our honeymoon.
"But no present can be better than
the Nations Cup ticket," she said.
