MAN TAKES A HIGH JUMP TO DEATH AFTER KILLING WOMAN FRIEND

1004 Flats in Victoria Island, Lagos, was thrown into confusion on Friday night after a man allegedly stabbed his woman friend to death. The alleged assailant jumped from the sixth floor of the highrise building where the heinous act was committed as he was being chased by security officials and died instantly. The victim was identified as Susan Yusuf while the name of the suspected killer was given as Idris.
The incident was reported to have taken place between 8:30 - 9pm. What resulted to her death was not know as she was found in her own pool of blood.

WHITNEY HOUSTON FOUND DEAD IN HER HOTEL ROOM

Award-winning singer Whitney Houston has died at a hotel in Los Angeles at the age of 48. The news was first announced by her publicist Kristen Foster but the cause of star's death is currently unclear. Lieutenant Mark Rosen from Beverly Hills Police told KABC-TV that Houston was pronounced dead in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton hotel at 3.55pm (local time) on Saturday afternoon. "She has been positively identified by friends and family that were with her at the hotel, and next of kin have already been notified," Lieutenant Rosen told reporters. Her body remains in the hotel and detectives are investigating but the death is not thought to be suspicious. On Thursday night the star was pictured looking dishevelled and worse-for-wear as she attended a pre-Grammy party in Hollywood. But earlier in the evening she had received a standing ovation for performing a duet with host Kelly Price.
According to the police as at time of this report suppects no foul play.

FIRST ISLAMIC BANK OPENS AMIDST MIXED REACTIONS

Mixed reactions have trailed the
commencement of the Islamic
banking system in the country by
Abuja-based Jaiz Bank Plc.
The banking system, which
emphasises interest-free loan
facilities, was introduced last year
by Central Bank Governor, Lamido
Sanusi, although no date was given
for its commencement.
While Muslims have commended
the take-off of Jaiz Bank, some
Christian quarters have described
the quiet commencement as
secretive, with the President of the
Christian Association of Nigeria
(CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor saying
"Sanusi is not a Central Bank of
Nigeria governor but the Islamic
Central Bank of Nigeria Governor".
Other Christian clerics described the
bank as sponsored by people to
create further divide between
Muslims and Christians, with some
calling for close monitoring of the
bank's activities to avoid it being
used to fund terrorist activities. The
interest-free loan system was
however applauded by a few, that it would help ease their pain.

for the murder of subsidy protester, Ademola Aderinde is now walking the streets as a free man.
According to the report, even though the embattled police man is supposed to be in detention, but he is allowed to go see his wife and family at home in the evening only to return back to police station early in the morning.
Someone who should be locked up for murder charge.

Academic Staff Union Of Universities in Nigeria ASUU, today decided to call off its aged strike. During a meeting today with the FG, the finally resolution was reached that all ASUU members should start work immediately.
